Admit it, there’s that one thing you wanted to do for a very long time now. I suggest you do it now because there are only two ways it would end up to: 1) The great sense of achievement. 2) A big case of ‘would’ve been’. There’s no harm in trying.

Thought for the day. Have a great one! x

Event: Grand Bazaar

Recently, I’ve been to the mall to look around and just as I was about to leave, it blasts through the department store speakers! My first Christmas song since the ‘-ber months’ have started. I don’t remember what song it was but it definitely reminded me that Christmas is more or less 90 days away! One question: have you started your Christmas shopping yet?

Didn’t think so. You might want to check this out!

Isn’t this the best place to shop and avoid Christmas shopping rush? Fab finds and good food, what more can you ask for?

Grand Bazaar is going to be on September 29-30, October 27-28, November 17 & 18 and your last chance is on December 21 to 23. All happening at the Elements Tent @ Centris 2012 (EDSA cor. Quezon Avenue) from 11am-9pm!

One of the good things at this bazaar is that you won’t be wasting money for entrance that supposed to be for gifts! Great right? Plus, it’s fully airconditioned so you don’t have to worry about getting all sweaty while trying to figure out what to give that special someone! Save the dates & bring tons of friends to the Grand Bazaar @ the Elements Tent at Centris 2012!!! Maybe, you’d get to spot me there too xxx

Laters, baby!

Don’t judge.

I have finally surrendered to the thunderous, enormous fad that has happened to the Pop Culture—that is Fifty Shades Trilogy.

I can see why people are fond of it (believe it or not, it has out sold Twilight—more importantly, it has surpassed Harry Potter book sales!). It’s all because it has a lot of sex in it. Not just sex… detailed, erotic, dirty sex. No one could ever turn down a read about sex… not even myself thus, this blog post.

The first book of this trilogy (Fify Shades of Grey) is mostly about a girl named Anastasia Steele who’s in her last year of college and was asked by her roomie-slash-bestfriend, Kate Kavanaugh to take her place—since she’s out sick—and interview multi-billionaire, Christian Grey. As Ana “fell into his office”, Mr. Grey instantly became fond of her, as she is attractive and very intelligent. After many flirting, Christian asked Ana for a date and filling her in on his erotic habits. He asked Ana if she wanted to his ‘Submissive’ or a girl (most preferrably, a brunette) to fullfil his sexual needs and do whatever he requests being as it is he is the ‘Dominant’… whatever he wants, it goes.

The rest of this book and the others basically tells how Anastasia tries to understand Christian Grey and his fifty shades and eventually falling in love with him.

As tempting—pun intended—as this book sounds, it’s not all good. I’ll tell you three things as to why:

  1. It has a lot of sex in it! Yes, it works both ways. It gets pretty boring after quite some time. After reading the first book, I was like, “What else is there?”
  2. Too many big words. First rule in writing, never use highfalutin words—you’re supposed to be retelling a story everyone understands and relates to, not write a dictionary.
  3. While all the sex are detailed, other things are just there—written in 2D. From my own experience, when you’re writing a fiction, you have to capture the reader and take him to your own world and let him feel as if he’s a part of it rather than just an ordinary (pervert) spectator.

You have your opinion, I have my own. This is not a novel, it’s porn… in a book. No story, no emotions just sex. Wow, I sound like Natalie Portman from No Strings Attached or even, Mila Kunis’s character in Friends With Benefits. Well, if you think about it, this book kind of feels like you’re in that kind of relationship. No feelings, just sex.

E. L James, you have so much to prove. I hope your next novel is better than this one.

Keep your ‘inner goddess’ in check, stop making her do uneven bars or tangos okay? Laters, baby!

A Pinch of School Pride and Hard Work

I’ve been to sporting events countless times but instead of watching, I’m working behind it and it does make a big difference that it’s for this year’s UAAP Cheer Dance Competition.

If you’re living under a rock and haven’t heard of this, I may enlighten you: it’s basically a cheering competition when eight different universities around Metro Manila compete for that coveted cheerdance trophy!

Working for the UAAP is such a big chance, it’s not even an option to take a pass on it. Even for just one day, it has become such a dream come true–to be able to step onto the mats, go inside dug outs, fix trophies medals and to interact with such big bosses–it’s frightening because I fear it’s all just a product of my sill imagination. And it doesn’t stop there! To work along side my cousin and my best friend is the greatest feeling ever even if I had to run up and down floors to fetch things but everything is worth it. In fact, up until now, I’m still reeling from a natural high from it all.

On our way to MOA Arena!

with Jessy Mendiola inside the Promoter’s Lounge!

I know I’m from National-U but I can’t help but cheer for the UP Pep Squad! They’re so cool! *starts babbling like a kid admiring her older sister*

“Royalty” the team of my school’s Pep Squad who placed 2nd runner up! So proud and happy for the team!!!

My All-access UAAP ID *wink

The energy-inducing close to 20k CDC crowd! Woooooowww

Working hard or hardly working?

Our favorite, Ate Cass! She’s so small and so funny!!!

My bestfriend in the entire world, everyone! ❤ Love her to bits and pieces!

The winners of these trophies are:

Champions: UP Pep Squad

1st Runner up: FEU Pep Squad

2nd Runner up: NU Pep Squad

* same rankings as those who was the group stunt event.

Congratulations, guys!! You all deserve the win xx

Until next, UAAP Cheer Dance Competition! NU LET’S GO!

I just want to clarify a few things to people (re: National-U Pep Squad’s 2nd place finish):

1. Yes, it is to our advantage that the event was held in our “home court”, the MOA Arena. But did it really made a difference? The NU crowd was placed on a specific area just like everyone else’s crowd. In fact, we didn’t have too many audience. Believe it or not, it was UP who had the most people watching for them. You can’t just say, “Nanalo lang NU kasi home court”. No, that is never a good excuse.

2. To all who are saying that we “hoarded” the CDC tickets, get your facts straight. As of Thursday, September 20, 2012 afternoon, our accounting office haven’t released tickets for any section. We actually had little time to buy tickets and they prioritized freshmen who needed tickets to the event as a requirement for their Physical Education classes.

3. There is no doubt that the NU Pep squad won! I was one of the first few people who saw the judges’ score cards. It was clear to me and to the three more people inside the room that National-U won. Admittedly though, there were very little point-difference between them and the UST Salinggawi troupe.

You’d say, I’m biased. That I am plus the fact that I’m sick of seeing “Ipro-protesta daw ng NU kapag natalo sila!” jokes and bitter tweets about the slow rise of our sports teams–it’s honestly getting a little old. I’m just trying to defend my school.

If you’ve got something to say, tweet me or ask me a question on 🙂

Have a great day xx

Passions Starts With B

Momma O (Oprah Winfrey) says, “Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.” and I feel terribly blessed to figure out what I’m truly passionate about at a young age–and it doesn’t hurt that my passion is very exciting, figuratively and LITERALLY.

My passion starts with the letter B: Basketball.

I started watching basketball (Philippine Basketball Association) when I was only two years old (the only thing I remembered from that game is the long-haired coach of Tanduay team) and my parents, who are avid fans of Crispa and San Miguel, would bring me to Araneta Coliseum to watch it live but I started to really get into the analyzing and stuff when I was eleven years old.

These were all (well, not really I got tons! Check my facebook and Multiply photos albums:-D I’ve got them PBA photos as well but I couldn’t find them huhuhu) photos I’ve taken over the past few years most of them were only recently when I started going to NU for college and cheering for the Basketball Varsity team–NU Bulldogs–was always something you’d want to do every game day.

For your information, I don’t just watch basketball for fun. I love analyzing teams’ defenses and offenses and if actually given a chance to write about it in paper or for a wider audience about this, I’d do it. I love basketball. Everything about it excites me, the chaos in the bench, the confusion in the technical table, the booing at the referees, the energetic sixth man, the slashes and the three-point shots–everything, just everything. + I also love how I’m sitting patron every game. It adds to the excitement and the viewing pleasure. What I love most about it is that the people who comes with me shares the same feeling. I love watching basketball with the people who has interest in it, otherwise it wouldn’t be fun at all.

And here comes the cheesy and overrated ending–What are you passionate about? Share it! Comment on this blog post, twitter (@theyeaaah) or tumblr (littlebedroomchronicles) If you haven’t figured out what you like, I suggest to put yourself out there! Go out for an adventure, try something new or read up! You wouldn’t discover what you’re passionate about if you’re only sitting down in front of your computer tweeting (hehe!) Believe me, if I didn’t flip channels from Disney to a local channel, I wouldn’t be able to discover PBA on ABC 5 and I wouldn’t be calling my dad to take me to Araneta. As the modern saying goes, “YOLO!” You only live once, so take it as an opportunity to learn and love.
