I’m on Bloglovin!

Okay, so recently, I’ve been trying to claim my blog through Bloglovin with Tumblr but they couldn’t find it so I’ve decided to move to WordPress (one of the main reasons why I moved to a new home).

Any of you knows Bloglovin, follow littlebedroomchronicles through it! x

Confession: Friendships

Contrary to what other people believe, I do not make friends easily. Some people think that socializing for me is simple as 1 + 1 but I tell you, it’s not.

It’s actually ‘what is the derivative of 487 to an English major’ (PS I am now taking up English hahaha) level of difficulty. I think of what to say, it takes me at least 2 minutes to think since it depends on what the person looks like and at least six times to practice it in my head. Lastly, if I can actually follow through (That’s basketball lingo for you!) When I’m about to say it though, these are the common things I think about–

“Will I sound stupid?”

“Will I look stupid?”

“Am I stupid for doing this?”

“What if s/he doesn’t want to be friends with me?”

“Do I look okay?”

“Is this the right time to make friends?”

“Why am I taking so long inside my head?”

I remember one time, when I was a freshman in St. Paul, I sat inside my classroom with no one to talk to, no friends whatsoever then I was suddenly sitting beside a pretty girl (charaught! I forgot how I ended up sitting with Bunts. Hi, Roxanne!! AdHoc soon!!! :>) Inside my head, my brain was searching for files on how to communicate and socialize–I decided to count to three and introduce myself. We ended up turning to face each other at the same time and surprising ourselves. One of the best moments in my whole stay in St. Paul (that’s a lot to say I’ve studied there for 4 years!). In the end, she stayed one of my friends in high school.

In college though, I have realized that I should initiate any form of communication for friendship because they’re important (but not too important.) because you’ll more likely to need a companion for the rest of your stay in your university.

Alone on a Subway Station

Going home from Katipunan via LRT to Santolan was eerily quiet & I’m all alone (with the exception of the security guard)

Took a picture of the station while waiting. There were a few people in front of me waiting for the train to Recto while I, on the other hand is only one station away to my destination. Define: tamad.

Katipunan x Lunch x JMF

Today, I ran (Figuratively, of course! I took the train FYI) from Manila for my orientation to Katipunan to meet up with one of my best friends, Jona Fernandez to interview her about the thing she’s busy with right now for my blog post that’s going to be published really really soon! Had lunch at Bonchon and dessert at Red Mango. I was exhausted, to say the least but I’m happy since this could be the last time I’d see her this summer 😦

Last night, I prepared twenty questions for her to answer :>

Our dessert!!! My favorite Red Mango Waffle!!!

Busy with her iPad.

Look how pink her things are!!!! She was like, “Ang bakla diba!” Hahahaha You are really the pink duchess! ❤ ❤

You have to appreciate this, Jona! I went from one end of the LRT line to the other for you!!!! 🙂 My shoes looked so battered because of the mud stains huhuhuhu

She was reviewing the video we made. Look out for that, okay!!!! :>

A couple of screen shots of the interview 🙂 Keep visiting my blog to find out her answers on the questions hehehe

Thank you, Jona for the day! I had tons of fun taking loads of pictures with you! Love you!!!! ☺

College Freshman Must-Carry-At-All-Times

I’ve been a Freshman before and surfing around the internet for some tips on what to do during my college years has been pretty useful until now. That is why, it’s my turn to pass it on to the incoming freshmen! 🙂

These are what you should carry in your bag at all cost (especially during the first day). This is in no particular order.

1. Certificate of Registration or COR. This is where you can find your schedule, the room, your student number and the breakdown of your tuition fee. This is important because this is proof that you are enrolled in a certain class.

2. Filler binder. Nope, freshman. You don’t need tons of notebooks for different subjects! You only need tiny and thin filler and bind it with a… binder. -.- Pros: It’s easy to carry around. Cons: It’s also easy to fill it all with notes so, write small!

3. Planner. It’s easy to get mixed up in college. Deadlines on different subjects are on the same day and what better way to organize that to use a planner? 🙂

4. Your trusty pen. This is not really my trusty pen but it’s all I’ve got right now! Anyway, you need this. It’s useful for notes (especially now that the prof won’t wait for you to finish writing before erasing the writings) and writing your name for the attendance!

5. ID. How would you get to your class if you can’t get past the guards first?

6. ID Pictures. This helps your professors recognize you especially if you’re a class standing whore. Professors have different specifications when it comes to this so to make sure, avail of the package that consists of 2x2s and 1x1s 🙂

7. Coins. No hassle for you in the morning when the jeepney driver doesn’t have a change to your 1000 peso bill, no hassle to the driver and everyone else!

8. Camera. No better way to capture those special and memorable moments than to whip out your point and shoot camera! PS, do not bring your dSLR, super hassle! Not to mention, show off! PS sorry my camera looks so battered! Hahaha

9. Fan or pamaypay. It’s hot in the Philippines, you have to admit, despite the rain. So if you don’t have a hankerchief with you, better have a fan inside your bag.

Almost forgot!

10. Index cards. It’s where you write your information for the professors to know. It’s also helpful for them but hell for you because when they decide to give out surprise oral recitations, it will be randomly picked out c/o of these little bad boys.

You can bring your gel, perfume, make-up kits etc but keep your bag light. It’s going to be such a hassle dragging around a suitcase when you’re commuting.

These are from my own experience. More to add? Tumblr ask me, tweet me @theyeaaah or email me at gagalang.altheamarie@gmail.com 🙂

Just realized this a couple of minutes ago. I was supposed to play the role of Olivia in the Shakespeare play, Twelfth Night for a school play (which got cancelled in the end.). In the movie adaptation, it was played by the great actress Helena Bonham Carter a.k.a Draco Malfoy’s crazy aunt Bellatrix Lestrange! Would’ve been epic to have played a role that was already played by such legendary actress.

If you haven’t watched the movie yet, you should! Carter’s acting was superb, as always! Beeteedubs, the movie’s modern version of it is called, She’s The Man starring Amanda Bynes and Channing Tatum.
